Privacy Policy

What we collect, why, and the third-party services we rely on. Written to match how the site actually works — not boilerplate that overclaims.

Overview

SalaryCPA (salarycpa.com) is an independent compensation-research publication. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit the site, how we use it, and the third-party services involved. We aim to collect as little personal information as possible, and we do not sell it.

1. Information we collect

We collect two broad categories of information:

  • Automatically collected usage data. Like most websites, our analytics and advertising providers automatically receive standard technical information when you visit — such as your approximate location (derived from IP address), device and browser type, pages viewed, referring page, and interactions. This is used in aggregate to understand traffic and to serve advertising.
  • Information you choose to provide. If you submit a salary or email us, we receive what you send us. Salary submissions are designed to be anonymous (see below); email correspondence includes your email address and message.

We do not require you to create an account to read the site, and we do not ask for sensitive personal information.

2. Analytics (Google Analytics 4)

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how the site is used — which pages are popular, how visitors arrive, and how the product performs. GA4 sets cookies and collects usage data as described above. This data is processed by Google on our behalf and is used in aggregate; we do not use it to identify individual visitors.

You can prevent GA4 from collecting your data with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or by blocking cookies in your browser.

3. Advertising (Google AdSense)

We display advertising through Google AdSense to support the free availability of our research. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.

  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your activity across sites.
  • You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads settings.
  • You can opt out of personalized advertising from many other vendors at aboutads.info/choices or youronlinechoices.eu.

Advertising is kept strictly separate from our data. Advertisers cannot influence any salary figure, ranking, or estimate — see our research standards.

4. Salary submissions

When you submit compensation information, participation is voluntary and consented. Submissions are designed to be anonymous: they are reviewed by a moderator, normalized to a standard role, and only ever published in aggregated, anonymized form. We never publish an individual submission, and company-level figures are suppressed until enough verified submissions exist to report them without re-identifying anyone.

Any contact details or proof you provide with a submission are kept private, are used only to verify the submission, and are never displayed publicly or sold.

5. Cookies

Cookies are small files stored by your browser. We and our providers use them for analytics and advertising as described above. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings; blocking them may affect how some parts of the site function but will not prevent you from reading our research.

6. Third-party services

We rely on a small set of reputable providers to operate the site, including Google (Analytics and AdSense) and our hosting provider. These providers process data under their own privacy policies. We do not control, and are not responsible for, the privacy practices of external websites we link to.

7. We do not sell your personal information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not build or sell marketing profiles of visitors. Aggregated, anonymized salary statistics are part of our published research, but they cannot be traced back to an individual.

8. Your choices and rights

You can opt out of analytics and personalized advertising using the tools linked above, and you can block or clear cookies at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you. To make such a request, email perrygrimaldi@gmail.com and we will respond.

9. Data retention

Aggregated analytics data is retained per our providers' standard retention settings. Consented salary submissions are retained as part of our ongoing research dataset in anonymized, aggregated form. Email correspondence is kept only as long as needed to handle your inquiry.

10. Children

The site is intended for a professional adult audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site evolves or as legal requirements change. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated date at the top of the page.

12. Contact
